BEVERLEY FOLK FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES STAR LINE-UP FOR 2025

Beverley Folk Festival Announces Star Line Up For 2025

The much-loved Beverley Folk Festival returns from June 20th–22nd, 2025, bringing an electrifying (and acoustic-fying!) celebration of folk, Americana, and acoustic music to the heart of East Yorkshire.

Since its revival in 2018, the festival has grown from its roots in the Beverley Fringe to become a cornerstone of the town’s cultural calendar. This year’s edition promises its most ambitious and eclectic line-up yet — a weekend packed with international talent, community spirit, and unforgettable performances.

The festival kicks off on Friday night with a spectacular concert at the stunning St Mary’s Church, headlined by the acclaimed Irish-folk fusion quartet Ranagri, known for their rip-roaring tunes, global beats, and hauntingly beautiful songs. Opening the show is the fast-rising singer-songwriter Ellie Gowers, described by The Guardian as “full of delicacy, precision, and gentle delight.”

Saturday is the festival’s vibrant centrepiece, featuring a rich mix of music, dance, and community events. Highlights include the popular Charity Buskathon, colourful folk-dance parade and Morris displays, and a series of intimate acoustic café events at East Riding Theatre and St Nicholas’ Church.

The evening features a rousing Ceilidh at The Armstrong Centre, alongside a very special comeback performance from Ruth Notman at St Nicholas’ Church, supported by Beverley-based singer-songwriter Iona Wild. Over at East Riding Theatre, platinum-selling artist Jamie Lawson (“Wasn’t Expecting That”) headlines a concert supported by Toria Wooff, a rising star from the North West with her signature brand of “nostalgic folk-noir.”

On Sunday, the festival draws to a close with a magical and intimate performance from Irish folk icon Cara Dillon at East Riding Theatre.

True to its ethos, the festival offers numerous free events and open sessions across the weekend. The Monks Walk and The Sun Inn will host informal, foot-stomping performances from favourites including Hillbilly Troupe, Paddy and the Portermen, and Hebble — plus lively sessions where all are welcome to join in.

Festival organiser Phil Simpson said: “We're thrilled to present such a diverse array of talent. From internationally renowned acts like Ranagri to incredible local performers, there’s truly something for everyone. Folk is less about genre and more about community — and that’s exactly what we’re celebrating. We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors Risby Homes, TC Group, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council, without whom this event wouldn’t be possible.”

In addition to the main programme, the festival also hosts community-focused events including school workshops at Tickton and Molescroft Primary Schools, a family folk workshop led by FolkLincs at East Riding Theatre, and a special performance for residents of Beverley Parklands Care Home.
