Beverley Building Society staff learn life-saving skill with British Heart Foundation
Mon 19th June 2017Staff at Beverley Building Society teamed up with local British Heart Foundation representatives to learn the life-saving skill of CPR.
As one of the charities Beverley Building Society has supported this year in its Charity of the Month initiative, store manager, Vanessa Emerson visited to collect the £250 donation, talk about the charity and promote a free CPR training service that is available to anyone who would like to learn. Keen to know more, twelve team members of the Society’s team volunteered to take the short course and feedback from the team was very positive.
Chief Cashier at the Society, Debbie Plaxton said:
“I’m really pleased I’ve done the training because now I feel confident I could step in, if it was ever needed.”
Jess Briggs, Mortgage Manager, said: “It was surprising how tiring CPR is, but now I know how to do it I could definitely help should a situation arise.”
Andrea Walker, Chief Cashier, said: “I’m glad to have the opportunity to learn CPR. I would also love for my children to learn as they represent Yorkshire in badminton and travel all over the UK to compete, this is definitely something they would be able to put into practice if anyone was showing signs of a heart attack.”
In addition to this training course, British Heart Foundation loan their CPR mannequins with a step-by-step DVD to help more people learn the skills that could potentially save a life. For more information visit www.bf.org.uk.
