Beverley barbarians tackle ten workouts in one day for charity!
Wed 26th October 2016Woodmansey-based gym Crossfit Barbaric hosted an action packed charity event and raised over £2,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust last weekend.
Participants, who had travelled from Yorkshire and Lancashire, took part in one crossfit ‘benchmark’ workout every hour for 10 hours on Saturday. Competitors refuelled and spectators watched on with tasty treats that were donated for the fundraiser, as well as a raffle and silent auction offering prizes such as a P&O mini cruise for two and Go Ape vouchers.
Simon Murray, Head Coach at Crossfit Barbaric, said: “CrossFit is all about people coming together, so we wanted to do something for our local community and raise money for a very worthy cause.
“I am overwhelmed with the support and the money we raised (which currently stands at around £2500). I couldn't be more proud of our members and everyone that took part on the day.”
