Autumn Migration Birdwatch at Flamborough Headland Nature Reserve
Thu 5th October 2023As part of its Autumn Discovery programme, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s countryside access team has arranged an Autumn Migration Birdwatch at the stunning location of Flamborough Headland Nature Reserve, Lighthouse Road, Flamborough.
On Friday, 13 October, from 10am -12.30pm, the event will be a chance to enjoy an easy walk of up to two miles on the headland, where many birds from Scandinavia come across the North Sea to benefit from a milder winter in this country. Participants may be lucky enough to see redwings, fieldfares, blackbirds and song thrushes.
A telescope will be provided, but those taking part are encouraged to bring binoculars if possible, although a few pairs will be available on loan. The walk will be led by a local birdwatching guide, and will be run with Yorkshire Coast Nature and the countryside access team.
Tickets cost £3.50 for adults; £2.50 for over 60s; £2.50 for children; and £9 for a family ticket. They must be purchased in advance online at : Autumn Migration Birdwatch http://eastridingcoastandcountryside.co.uk
