Archbishop of York to start Beverley 10k Race

Beverley AC are delighted to announce that the Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu, will be present in Beverley on Sunday 13 May and will be the starter of the Pittaway Beverley 10k race. Dr Sentamu will also provide blessings for both the 10k race and the B&A Scaffolding Fun Run.
The Archbishop will then spend the remainder of the morning with the volunteer team as they welcome runners and spectators to the town for this iconic event.
Andy Tate, President of Beverley AC says: “The Archbishop of York will be in Beverley and we were told he wanted to be involved. He likes sport and athletics and expressed an interested in having some involvement. We’re very happy to say he will both bless and start the race.”
This news comes after the exciting announcement last week that Olympic Gold Medal winning rower Phelan Hill will compete in the 10k race.
The club welcomes runners, visitors and residents alike to the town for the 25th running of the race on Sunday 13 May.
Please be reminded that road closures will be in place from 11am – 1pm in the town centre and Westwood areas of the town and drivers are advised to avoid the town centre during these times.
