Six drivers at Acklams Coaches have been inducted into the GreenRoad Fleet Elite, an international initiative designed to encourage safe and environmentally friendly driving.
Acklams has a 45-strong workforce, with the company signing up to the Green Road programme and its Drive Green-Drive Safe policy.
The main aim is to reduce unnecessary driving manoeuvres, through driver training and the use of a traffic light system LED display on the vehicle's dashboard, with red being an unnecessary manoeuvre through to green indicating safe driving.
In a letter to Acklams' drivers, Green Road Technologies chief executive officer Zeev Braude said: "Your performance goes well beyond 'green' and distinguishes you as one of the best drivers on the road."
