A Night at the Oscars!
Fri 28th July 2017Following on from a highly successful quiz night hosted by Mike Friend. Our second quiz night is hosted by Clive Kneller and Rachel Barnes who have themed it 'A Night at The Oscars'
The format of the quizzes are designed by Mike Friend, who directed ERT’s Christmas shows ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘Oliver Twist’, not to mention the amazingly absurd ‘Sparrow’, the quizzes are based on his devised work with circus performers in New Zealand. Thus, the content tends to verge towards the quirky side of normal not to mention the bizarre.
As the quizzes are dependent on the element of performance, our current preoccupation is with ‘the wackier the better’ show stoppers, such as a mini play taking place in a bath tub! We have a plenty more offers in store too. In fact, keeping artists off centre stage might prove the tricky part.
The programme for the evening involves each round kicking off with a performance lasting ten minutes or so, stimulating ideas for the question master and whetting the competitive appetite of participating team players. The round will be followed by Clive and Rachel's unique delivery of questions loosely based (a point to be stressed) around the subject of the performance, before going onto the next equally unpredictable event.
As the blurb says, ERT places itself in the centre of entERTainment promising a circus that befuddles, bamboozles, astonishes and amuses. We even throw a light bite into the ring.
Do come along and have some fun. Either bring along plenty of team mates, or we will find some to join you.
