Brook Taverner - The Start of Summer

for the return of blue skies and the sun on our faces.

With what has been an underwhelming month for weather, we’ve had to daydream about rising temperatures instead of getting to experience it first-hand! It’s been a pleasure to see so many customers returning to the store since April, and we’ve valued hearing your thoughts on our latest spring/summer collection immensely. We in store have been touched by the support for small, local businesses during what has been an immeasurably difficult and unprecedented time.

We’re all excited for the opening up of events, gatherings and restaurants in the coming weeks. Tickets have gone on sale for Beverley racecourse, and we’re itching to put together some stand-out ensembles to look our best at the races!

Occasion wear like the Leeds linen jacket in blue are sure to make a sartorial statement this summer. Its 100% cool and breathable linen composition makes it ideal for a sunny day at the racecourse, with its characterful lining making it a
unique must-have. Paired with the stone Ashdown chino, this seasonal ensemble is sure to go down a storm!

If the weather proves to be slightly breezier than anticipated, you can always choose a weightier garment like the Fountains Sage Tweed Jacket. Its check pattern oozes subtle refinement, making it unique but not too loud with the way it goes
about it. Pair it with a navy chambray shirt and some smart cotton chinos to nail smart-casual race day attire.

With restrictions loosening, you may be thinking of getting away in the coming months. Our team members in store have
already begun to notice some customer favourites for travelling this summer… The Overton polo collection for example; In shades like strawberry, coral and gold, the collection’s colour palette inspires thoughts of long summer days bursting
with vibrant colour. Made from 100% cotton, they’ll keep you cool and comfortable wherever you happen to roam during the height of summer. For the deluge of postponed weddings and parties you’re likely to be invited to this season, you may need to update your events wardrobe! Fortunately, we have the goods to ensure you’ll be stylish and comfortable for whatever the summer has to throw at you.

The Clifford Donegal Three Piece Suit’s heathered effect of its homespun weave adds texture and depth to what is a beautifully tailored wardrobe staple. It walks the line elegantly between standing out, while not taking attention away from
the bride, groom or guest of honour. Pair it with one of our business casual floral shirts for a pop of colour and personality!

Lee and the team forward to seeing you all in store to discuss our collection further, and we at Brook Taverner hope you have a safe and enjoyable start to the summer!
