Outdoor classes launched at East Riding Leisure Centres on 29 March have proved hugely popular – over 5,000 people have now taken part in the outdoor and online classes offered since that date.

If everything proceeds according to the government’s roadmap, East Riding Leisure are aiming to reintroduce indoor classes from Monday, 17 May, along with more leisure activities. For more information about what will be available at specific sites, visit https://eastridingleisure.co.uk/class/

In the meantime, customers can pre-book outdoor classes online at www.eastridingleisure.co.uk  Bookings can be made two days in advance for members, and one day in advance for non-members. Spaces are limited, and class sizes vary from site to site. All East Riding Leisure Centres are operating in a COVID – safe manner, and full details of all procedures being followed are online.

Adrian Walters, health and wellbeing facilities manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the popularity of our outdoor and online sessions. We know that outdoor exercise can help ward off anxiety and depression, and we also know that being outdoors provides us with essential Vitamin D to help maintain healthy bones, teeth and muscles.

“I am sure that these outdoor classes will continue to be well subscribed, and of course we are very much looking forward to May 17th, and hope that all goes according to plan for reintroducing indoor classes from that date!”
