The Things You Didn’t Know About Brook Taverner...

The time has come to welcome in the start of a new decade. It’s almost impossible to think that the turn of the millennium is in the distant past... time is quickly disappearing!

Our high street store has now been in operation for over 6 months. It feels like yesterday that we became part of the Beverley community and is another example of time flying by the wayside, although of course we have loved every minute of it!

To celebrate our 6-month anniversary, we thought we’d provide you with some lesser known facts about Brook Taverner...

1) Our history stretches back to 1912… It may have taken us 100 years to put our stamp on the high street, but the Brook Taverner name stems from founders Frank Brook and Walter Taverner. Their desire to provide leading quality cloths and materials across the country for garment creation laid the foundation of the synonymous British Heritage Brook Taverner have become famous for. Their story still lives on today.

2) The 180,000 square foot warehouse in Keighley... We are often asked how we’re able to provide such a wide variety of products in a magnitude of sizes. The answer is storage. Our Keighley head office spans 180,000 square feet and over 12 miles of hanging garment rails.

3) The Store Objective… Beverley was the first English based Brook Taverner store. At the time of opening it was the 4th location in the UK (after the opening of our 3 Scottish stores) and we hope to expand yet further across the country over the next few years.

4) Our Range of Sizes… With stores not always able to showcase every size in every garment, is isn’t obvious that we stock jackets in sizes up to a 54” chest, trousers up to a 48” waist, casual shirts up to XXXL and formal shirts up to a 20” collar. Select Formal Shirts are available in Short, Regular, and Long sleeve lengths. And whilst you may see Short, Regular and Long leg lengths in store, if you need an extra inch (or half inch!), then just speak to Lee and the team. Remember, if you’re unable to find what you’re looking for a member of staff will more than happily find a solution and source the perfect size for you.

So here’s to another 6 months and more of welcoming customers into our Beverley store, which is setting a precedent for the great things to come in 2020!
