Richard Gardham and Dove House

Hull City book sales ensuring roaring success for local hospice

Chronicling the decade that transformed Hull City AFC from near extinction in the fourth tier of English football, up through the leagues to the promised land of the Premier League, author Richard Gardham penned his passion project with the ultimate goal of supporting local charity, Dove House Hospice. Featuring interviews with more than 120 former owners, managers, players and fans, The Decade: Ten Years That Transformed Hull City AFC has sold close to 1,400 books since its release earlier this year.

The huge success of the book has resulted in a total of £9,577.00 being donated to Dove House Hospice. Dan Clipson, Regional Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice said, “We are incredibly grateful to Richard and the Hull City AFC community for their hard work, efforts and contributions in collating this wonderful book which is perfect for the Tigers fan in your life. The book remains on sale at all of our Dove House stores, Waterstones in Hull and The Cut-Price Bookstore in Beverley, so is an ideal Christmas stocking filler!”
