A showcase of artwork created in a yearlong arts programme is to be present in Creative Connections: The Exhibition. The programme saw artists Jon Keen, Sarah Johnson and Gail Hurst work with participants at Victoria House, Sight Support and
Danny’s Dream. It has been a truly inspiring project that has captured the imaginations of all involved.

A beautiful collaboration of 2D and 3D experimental artworks including flamingos, a 7 foot wheelchair, abstract balloon smash paintings and the occasional landscape. With over 50 participants in total over the year, each group has created their own personal journeys as artists, which we are delighted to share in our gallery!

This exhibition celebrates overcoming barriers, forming friendships, and building confidence through creativity, reinforcing the ideal that everyone has the right to access the creative arts.

“It brought out hidden talents in me and is inspirational in my life, which can be quite lonely and sad sometimes” Anne (Sight Support).

“This is an invaluable way for me to develop myself as an artist and progress further” Claire (Sight Support).

“It has been amazing to see the quality of works produced week on week and the standard of works has been truly brilliant. It has been lovely to see the excitement of the service users who have been actively involved in these fabulous sessions.

Working with other local groups has been a real treat and brought another level to the collaborative production of works.” Christina (Danny’s Dream).

“This project has been a vital resource for both the groups and the artists – it has been a pleasure to witness the growing relationship between the artists and groups. What has been achieved in such a finite amount of time is outstanding!” Jemma (Creative Producer, Artlink)

The Creative Connections project was made possible by a grant from the Postcode Lottery Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery, as well as match funding from Arts Council England.
