Keldmarsh Primary School won £3,700 in our Bags of Help customer vote last July/August for the refurbishment of their outdoor quiet area. The project has now been completed and Tesco Community Champion Dave Ryley visited the school on 19th April to see just how much difference the grant has made.

School Head Teacher Carol Tomkinson said: “The new  quiet area offers children a relaxing and pleasant place to read and chat with friends during break times and lunchtimes. It will benefit many children for many years ahead. The school are extremely appreciative of the funding from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme.’’

Dave Ryley added: ''The transformation from when I visited the school to make the cheque presentation has been incredible. Everyone who has helped bring the project to life has done a fantastic job and it's great to hear just how much the children are enjoying the area.''

Tesco’s Bags of Help project has already delivered over £48 million to over 10,000 local community projects up and down the UK. The scheme is permanently open for applications from community groups.
