East Riding College is delivering a new cyber security course for small businesses.

The course introduces a Government-backed initiative for micro, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and costs £45 per delegate. It helps employees and business owners understand information security risks and how to protect their businesses against fraud and cyber-crime.

The Federation of Small Businesses estimates that the UK’s small businesses are collectively attacked more than 7 million times a year at an estimated cost of over £5 billion. A shocking two thirds of the small businesses surveyed in 2016 had been a victim of cyber-crime in the previous two years.

The East Riding College course offers advice to help businesses protect their business information and understand the possible threats of a cyber-attack.  Guidance will include information on how to provide simple staff awareness, and training, as well as managing risk.

Any businesses interested in booking a place on this course should call the College’s Business Development team on 01482 390888 or email business.development@eastridingcollege.ac.uk
