Opera North aims to get tiny toes tapping in Beverley when it opens a new branch of its popular Little Singers group for pre-schoolers at East Riding Theatre next week.

Starting on 11 January, the sessions will be held in the theatre at 10.30am every Thursday during term-time and will build on the success of Little Singers in Leeds which has gone from strength to strength since its launch several years ago. Led by professional artists, the 45-minute workshops have been designed to encourage babies, toddlers, and children up to four years of age, to enjoy music in a relaxed, friendly setting with the youngsters and their accompanying grown-ups learning new songs, exploring instruments and playing games together.

Jacqui Cameron, Opera North Education Director, said:

“We’re delighted to be opening a new Little Singers, enabling people from Beverley and the surrounding areas to come along and join us each week for music and singing activities. By running fun, interactive sessions for younger years, we aim to build an association between music and enjoyment from a very early age. Little Singers is a great opportunity for both adults and children to make new friends and to discover the pleasure and well-being that comes from singing with others.”

Tickets for each session are £5 per child. People are very welcome to drop in on the day or they can book in advance at www.eastridingtheatre.co.uk/2017/11/little-singers-opera-north
