There are still tickets available for Britten Sinfonia’s presentation of Mother Goose on Saturday, 21 October 2017, at 2pm at Toll Gavel United Church, Beverley, as part of the Classically Yours series.

This will be an interactive concert, designed to introduce children to the delights of classical repertoire for chamber orchestra in a fun and collaborative environment.

Presented by Letty Stott and performed by six Britten Sinfonia musicians, the audience will have the opportunity to explore five different fairy tales accompanied by the charmingly delicate and imaginative suite of wind quintet pieces, written by French composer Maurice Ravel.

Community arts officer June Mitchell said : “Come along and help us create musical breadcrumbs for Tom Thumb, sing songs about caterpillars in The Fairy Garden, dance with The Prince of Pagodas and act as sleeping lions in Sleeping Beauty.”

Recommended age group: 5-9 years plus accompanying adults.

Tickets cost Adults £6, Children £5 and are available from Beverley Library or call 01482 395320 or visit events.eastriding.gov.uk

Classically Yours is one of the key events in the East Riding’s celebration of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Orchestras Live have joined forces to bring orchestral music to venues across the East Riding. Thanks to a grant from Arts Council England, and investment from the council – which is a Principal Partner in Hull 2017 - and Orchestras Live, Classically Yours will see some of the UK’s top orchestras, including Manchester Camerata, Sinfonia Viva and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, coming to the area.
