Yorkshire Mountain Bike Marathon 2018
Thu 7th June 2018After a successful event in 2017, Birdsall Estates welcomed everyone back to enjoy the 2018 Yorkshire Mountain Bike Marathon.
Starting and finishing at Birdsall Estates in the Yorkshire Wolds the event had three routes: 25km; 40km and 80km. The Yorkshire Mountain Bike Marathon 2018 is a mountain bike challenge event that takes place within the stunning 12,000 acres of Birdsall Estate.
The route takes in natural terrain including singletrack, forest descents and even a medieval village. The event travels through some very remote countryside with NO MOBILE PHONE COVERAGE on parts of the course.
The Yorkshire Mountain Bike Marathon route has extremely challenging terrain and required a high level of fitness to complete. It took in many of the major off-road climbs in the Yorkshire Wolds and that means steep and technical descents as well.
The finish with a technical descent coming out of the woods to the rear of the house, lead to a little climb up to the rear great house and then around and down the drive way to the finishing line where a well deserved treat was waiting.
The pictures tell the story.
