UK City of Culture 2017 Roadshow Arrives in Beverley
Fri 8th April 2016It's not long now until Hull's official reign as UK City of Culture begins, a title that will stand for 4 years.
Up to and in that time, the City of Culture team are recruiting volunteers to support 600 days of volunteering activity.
The 22-stop community roadshow is now on the road and the City of Culture team, along with pioneer volunteers, will be visiting Beverley in May.
Residents are encouraged to come along over the two-day event to say hello, meet the team, and ask any questions they may have about Hull's City of Culture status and the volunteering process.
Hull UK City of Culture 2017 have already launched the application process to apply for a grant as part of the Creative Communities Programme, and have recently opened applications to be part of the Hull 2017 Community Brand story. Volunteers at the roadshow will be on hand to answer any questions applicants might have.
Events already announced for the first City of Culture Year include Ferens Art Gallery hosting the Turner Prize and the Sea of Hull art event where hundreds of people will assemble nude for renowned photogropher Spencer Tunick.
