Tesco Community Grants have funded thousands of local community projects across the UK, helping
schools, junior sports teams, foodbanks, charities and community groups.
Since 2016 over a hundred local projects voted on in Tesco’s Beverley store have received over £200,000 in grants. Across Tesco UK network the scheme has supported over 67,000 community groups with over £120 million in grants
In Beverley and surrounding area, the following groups will each benefit from the latest round of grants:
Beverley Community Lift won £1500 to help provide cost-effective community transport to essential
appointments and social activities, due to age, disability or isolation
Walkington Primary School received £1,000 to add seating areas for their flower garden
Keldmarsh Primary School received £500 to help provide an outdoor learning environment for their
pupils
Fiona Wales, Manager at Beverley Community Lift, said: "We would like to thank Tesco and everyone
who used their blue token to vote for us. As a local charity the support is invaluable for the services we
provide and to receive the highest amount of votes demonstrates the high regard we hold within our
local community."
