Tapas bar on the menu
Wed 4th February 2015Tapas and cocktails will soon be on the menu in Beverley, when Lazo opens in Saturday Market next month.
Run by father and son, Rob and Dean Booty, the bar will take over what was the Real Sandwich Shop building on the corner of Saturday Market and Toll Gavel. It will be a coffee and cake shop during the day, to catch passing trade from the shoppers, before being transformed into a happening night spot for the evening.
The pair, who currently own Beverley 24 Hour Self Storage, have been considering opening their tapas and cocktail bar for a while, but had never found a suitable location for their venture, until now.
Authentic Spanish tapas with a British twist is the aim, with both a food consultant and a mixologist being employed to compile a menu. They also plan to bring 15 jobs to the town, with vacancies for a head chef, bar staff and mixologists.
Lazo is set to be open seven days a week, from 8am until midnight.
