Time to remember and reflect, Armistice Day, At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them. 

The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918 is an important date.

To veterans and their families, November, particularly Remembrance Day and Armistice Day is a time of reflection and drawing memories for those who have given us today.

SSAFA provides practical help, such as financial aid for families facing hardship, ensuring they can afford essentials and enjoy a festive meal. Their volunteers offer companionship and support, creating a sense of community for those separated from loved ones. SSAFA’s ongoing commitment ensures that the Armed Forces community feels cared for and supported, even during the most challenging times.

SSAFA supports veterans and their families 365 days a year, during the colder months they will be providing financial assistance, heating aid, and emotional support to ensure they stay warm and cared for. Armistice Day following Remembrance Sunday, honours those who served in the Armed Forces, symbolising gratitude, sacrifice, and unity across generations.
