Schools Out Time!
Wed 27th June 2018Parents and carers looking for ways to keep their children entertained this summer should look no further than the School’s Out 2018 booklet.
School’s Out 2018 will soon be delivered to more than 20,000 homes of children aged between four and 13 years old and who attend school in the East Riding.
It is packed full of ideas and activities to keep children active and has a sport theme for what promises to be another fantastic summer of international sports events, such as the football World Cup.
Many of the activities can be booked online, making it easier for parents and carers to plan their days.
Activities include swimming lessons, archery, golf, cricket, rugby, football, trampolining, beach games, gymnastics and mini-safaris.
For parents and carers of children with a disability, there are also a number of specifically-designed activities.
Councillor Julie Abraham, portfolio holder for children, young people and education, said: “Parents and carers can find it a challenge to keep their children entertained during the summer holidays.
“This booklet is packed with great ideas for fun activities and will be very useful to keep hold of through the summer so parents and carers can plan some fantastic things to do for their children.”
The guide will be dropping through letterboxes at the start of July and about 12,000 copies will be available to pick up in customer services centres, libraries, leisure centres and children’s centres across the East Riding.
It can also be viewed from early July, with a calendar of events, at the website www.eastriding.gov.uk/schoolsout
