East Riding residents are being encouraged to sign up to mental health and wellbeing support courses, to mark mental health awareness week.
The week runs from Monday 11th to Sunday 17th May, and this year has the theme of ‘action’, encouraging people to take active steps to support themselves and their families and friends.
East Riding Adult Learning and Employability are offering a Welcome to Wellbeing course, designed to build confidence and discover new opportunities, as well as the opportunity to progress to gain the skills to help others with the Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness or the Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems qualifications.
Courses are available both online and at East Riding of Yorkshire Council Adult Learning centres, in Beverley, Bridlington and Cottingham, with funded places available.
Councillor Anne Handley, East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader said: “We’re dedicated to lifelong learning and providing accessible wellbeing support. We encourage interested residents to find out more and sign up.”
