Practical motoring with Rich Hayes - Winter driving tips
Thu 6th February 2020We’re all guilty of taking our cars for granted on a daily basis, so make sure to follow these top tips to give your car extra TLC this winter.
Clean your car regularly
If you’re one of those who thinks there’s little point in keeping your car clean in the winter months then think again. Regular upkeep of your car is important as regularly washing it can help avoid corrosion and rust. There are plenty of car washes in Beverley and the surrounding area who will wash it for you if you don’t fancy cleaning it yourself.
Park wisely
Park your car under cover where it’s warm and dry to help reduce the time you spend de-icing in a morning, and also reduce the risk of it not starting. If you don’t have a garage or carport to give it shelter, park in the lee of your house next to a tall hedge instead to give some added protection.
Have an emergency kit
Ensure you have the essentials stored in the car in case of an emergency, the last thing you want to do is break down and have nothing prepared. Pack a blanket, snacks and a first aid kit in case you have to wait for a tow truck.
Free winter vehicle check
At Beverley Motor Works we understand the importance of keeping your car in top working order all year round, so we every year we offer free vehicle checks for both new and existing customers. There’s no catch!
Simply book online or call 01482 429350 and our team will carry out a thorough check of your vehicle and offer advice on anything you want to address. Safe driving this winter!
