Post Office given renovation
Wed 24th December 2014Woodhall Way's Post Office will open a newly modernised main branch in the new year.
The service, which will launch at 1pm on Wednesday 21 January 2015, will be provided from three counter positions, one new style open-plan counter, one modern screened position and a combi-counter, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till.
The branch itself will open from 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, with selected Post Office products and services available from the retail counter during shop opening hours, which are 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 7am to 5:30pm on Saturday and 8am to 1pm on Sunday. The opening hours, which will increase by an extra 19 and a half hours a week, will offer far more choice of times to visit.
The new-look Woodhall Way Post Office will be delighted to welcome customers to the newly refurbished branch. Local residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including international parcels, Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, make cash withdrawals from a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, buy holiday money, get insurance, mortgages, savings and top up mobile phones. Car tax renewal will also be added to the range of services available.
As the traditional banking network declines, customers for the majority (95%) of UK banks can use their post office for online banking cash deposits and withdrawals and bill payments.
Woodhall Way Post Office will need to close at 5:30pm on Monday 5 January 2015 for the refurbishment to take place. During this short period of closure Post Office services may be accessed from any convenient Post Office branch, including:
- Beverley Post Office, 1 Register Square, Beverley, HU17 9XX
- Leconfield Post Office, Main Street, Leaconfield, Beverley, Hu17 7NQ
Sarah Cottrell, area manager said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Beverley and we are confident that this vibrant modern Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade.”
The move is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
