Popular Christmas Market Returns To Beverley

The Beverley Festival of Christmas, the largest one-day yuletide market in the UK, will be returning to the town on Sunday, 14 December.

The festival, organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and sponsored by The Beverley Arms - part of hospitality company Thwaites, is now in its 29th year.

Each year, on the second Sunday in December, the centre of Beverley is transformed into a magical Christmas shopper’s wonderland, as more than 120 stalls brimming with seasonal gifts and local treats take over the historic market town.

The festival attracts thousands of visitors to the East Riding from all corners of the UK to experience an array of food, drink, arts and crafts and the opportunity to purchase Christmas presents along with visiting some unique independent businesses in the town.

This year’s event will take place from 10am to 4pm, taking over Saturday Market, North Bar Within and Wednesday Market, with links to Flemingate Shopping Centre.

The event will also feature a parade to mark the start of the festival.

New for 2025 North Bar’s Georgian Quarter will feature East Yorkshire businesses and traders, showcasing a wonderful array of local producers.

The weekly Saturday Market on 13 December will also have a Christmas theme, with a free park and ride operating from Beverley Racecourse across the weekend.

Further details on the planned entertainment, travel information, park and ride and road closures will be available in the run-up to the event at Beverley Festival of Christmas

Rick Bailey, Chairman at Thwaites, said: “We’re so proud that The Beverley Arms is once again part of The Beverley Festival of Christmas, it’s such a special celebration that brings the whole town together, showcases the very best of Beverley, and captures the true spirit of the season.

“Our team at The Beverley Arms has been busy creating something really special this year, with a magical line-up of festive experiences, from indulgent festive dining to a magical Narnia-inspired wonderland where all the family can step through the wardrobe for a unique photo opportunity.

“We can’t wait to welcome guests through our doors - whether they’re joining us for a festive meal, a family experience, or simply to enjoy the atmosphere and be part of what promises to be another unforgettable Christmas in Beverley.”

Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, tourism and leisure at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "Beverley Festival of Christmas is the flagship tourism event for our region and is an important date in the calendar for businesses and traders.

"It is always a hugely popular event, with visitors from all over the UK coming to enjoy the festive stalls and entertainment.

“The event will also provide a welcome boost to the local visitor economy at such a wonderful time of the year.’’
