Open Event at East Riding College
Thu 10th July 2014People who are thinking of going into the armed forces, uniformed services or sport coaching, health and fitness professions are invited to an open event at East Riding College on Tuesday 22 July.
Tutors will be on hand to talk about the Level Four BTEC Higher National Certificate and Level Five BTEC Higher National Diploma in Public Services and the Foundation Degree in Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and the one-year “top-up” course in sports coaching and health sciences that makes it into a full degree.
The public services courses are ideal for people who want to strengthen their application to the highly competitive public services, or who want to gain a higher education qualification.
Interested applicants may have already achieved a level three qualification and want to continue with their education or may be mature applicants who are looking for personal and professional development.
The sports courses are aimed at people who would like to work in health and fitness, in roles such as sport development, coaching, rehabilitation or fitness instruction. They also include work experience.
Curriculum leader Abigail Brunton said: “The modern jobs market is highly competitive and it’s essential to make your CV stand out from the crowd through your qualifications and experience.
“These open events are an opportunity to find out how our public services and sport science higher education courses can really benefit your career, whether you’re just starting out or ready to take your next step.”
The open event will be held at the Beverley campus, in Gallows Lane, from 4pm to 7pm. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to turn up at the College and report to reception.
