Local photographer Nigel Walker is to run a short workshop and practical session on slow photography in Beverley.
The half day session will be based at Atom Bar on New Walkergate on 9th July. Nigel will begin with an introduction to observation and creativity using a camera.
Participants will have a chance to learn the traits of a slow photographer as well as taking part in a short walk to begin to put into practice what that means. During the walk Nigel will give individual input to each person. At the end of the walk participants will share their results from the day and discuss their own approaches.
The workshop is limited to eight participants.
Nigel, who has already had three exhibitions during 2022, as well as being part of a collaborative, international publication called “Where Are You Local” published by Silvergrass Press, is now working on an exhibition called “Estuary” that will be shown at The Ropewalk Gallery in Barton-On- Humber in January next year. He is a Trustee of St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts.
