The ‘Let’s Talk Money’ course, for learners aged 19 and over, is returning to East Riding of Yorkshire Council venues. The course looks at topics such as building a budget, using online price comparison tools and signposting to other services that can support saving money.
It is designed to help residents gain a better understanding of their finances and the support networks available to improve financial literacy.
The course is available in December in Cottingham, Goole, Bridlington, Withernsea, and Beverley. Learners who compete the course receive a £40 Love to Shop voucher, just in time for Christmas.
It is free to anyone with an income of less than £25,000 per year, with a fee for those who earn over that threshold.
Councillor Anne Handley, East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader said, “We’re proud to support lifelong learning across the East Riding, including on improving financial literacy. We strongly encourage interested residents to find out more and sign up for these excellent sessions.”
The sessions will run in Cottingham Adult Learning Centre on Monday 1st and 8th December 10am-12.30pm, Goole Adult Learning Centre on Tuesday 2nd and 9th December, 10am-12.30pm, and Bridlington Adult Learning Centre Thursday 4th December 10am-3.30pm
There will also be sessions at Withernsea East Riding Leisure Monday 8th and 15th December 9am-11.30am, Beverley Adult Learning Centre Friday 12th December 9.30am-3pm, and Cottingham Worklink on Friday 12th December 10am-3.30pm
