Tickets are now on sale for the hugely popular Winter Woodland which will return to Sewerby Hall and Gardens this Christmas from Friday, 5 December to Tuesday, 23 December.
Now in its fifth year, this magical outdoor experience is back with the enchanting theme of ‘The Snowman’s Ball’, promising festive fun for families, friends, and visitors alike.
Guests can look forward to a spectacular evening filled with twinkling lights, festive scenes, and interactive characters including elves, the Woodcutter, Snow Fairy, and the beloved Sewerby Snowman. The illuminated journey will take visitors through Candy Cane Lane, a giant bauble, and a dazzling light tunnel.
New for 2025, a life-size snow globe will be featured in the Pleasure Gardens. This new addition, which can be accessed at an additional charge, offers a unique, 360-degree video opportunity which can be sent to those who take part.
Food and drink will be available until 9pm from the Clock Tower Café, Stables Pizza Company, Greek Treat, and Peaky Grinders, with a licensed bar in the courtyard marquee courtesy of Louisianna Bars. Along the route, visitors can enjoy festive treats such as toasted marshmallows at an additional charge.
Winter Woodland is also the perfect setting for a couple’s festive evening. Stroll hand-in-hand through sparkling lights, share a cozy moment under the giant bauble and capture memories in the enchanting snow globe. Couples can warm up with mulled wine or hot chocolate from the licensed bar and enjoy delicious street food under the stars, making for an unforgettable date night experience.
This magical experience is also designed for all generations, making it an ideal outing for families and grandparents with their grandchildren in a setting that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, bringing loved ones closer during the festive season.
Arrival times are staggered for the best experience and are as follows:
4.30pm – 5pm, 5pm – 5.30pm, 5.30pm – 6pm, 6pm – 6.30pm, 6.30pm – 6.50pm, 6.45pm – 7pm.
Relaxed performances will take place on Thursday, 11 December and Thursday, 18 December during the 4.30pm – 5pm slot, featuring reduced volume, no lasers, no haze or smoke machines, and sensory-friendly character interactions.
Inside Sewerby Hall House, visitors can explore a unique exhibition: The Snowman: International Icon of Winter, tracing the snowman’s journey from medieval manuscripts to modern-day culture. A festive trail and activities will complement the exhibition.
