One of East Yorkshire's largest grassroots football clubs has received a timely boost from national housebuilder Lovell, with sponsorship funding new training kits for an under-13 girls' team.
The partnership between Lovell and Tickton Swifts comes as participation in women's and girls football continues to surge across the region, with clubs struggling to meet demand for pitches, coaching and equipment.
AFC Tickton has grown rapidly in recent years and now fields close to 40 teams with nearly 400
players, from Wildcats beginners to development squads and veterans, making it one of the biggest
grassroots clubs in the East Riding.
The U13 girls' team will wear their new Lovell-sponsored kits throughout the upcoming season as
they compete in local leagues.
The sponsorship forms part of wider community engagement from Lovell around its development
The Paddocks, located in Beverley just a short distance from Tickton.
Jasmine Hindley, Regional Sales Director at Lovell, said:
"Grassroots football is the heartbeat of local communities. It brings young people together, promotes teamwork, and provides positive opportunities close to home. As a local developer, we're proud to support a club that's clearly thriving and making such a difference to hundreds of young players, particularly in girls' football, which is going from strength to strength."
Claire Charge, Swifts Manager and Coach said:
“We’re extremely thankful to Lovell for their support. Stepping up a division and moving to 11-a-side for the U13 season is a big moment for us, and having our squad together in the new kit really shows our unity and team spirit.”
The Paddocks offers a collection of spacious, energy-efficient two, three and four bedroom homes in
Molescroft, Beverley, a vibrant market town with excellent amenities, transport links and access to the Yorkshire Wolds and coast.
