Beverley Theatre Company (BTC) are pleased to announce that their next production will be
‘Love from a Stranger’, by Agatha Christie and Frank Vosper.
Cecily Harrington has led a staid and proper existence. After winning a large amount of money in a sweepstake she desperately yearns for a life of adventure. Enter Bruce Lovell, a handsome and charming stranger who sweeps her off her feet. In a whirlwind romance, she recklessly abandons her job, friends and fiancé to settle in the remote and blissful surroundings of a country cottage. However, her newfound “love from a stranger” is not what it seems and in an astonishingly tense final scene, Cecily discovers the ghastly truth of her new love.
The staging of this play is a full circle moment for BTC, as this is the production that was due to be staged in 2020, but which was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid.
Now it is back with a cast of both familiar and new names - Mark Bateman, Charlotte Wilson, Sarah McLoughlin, Laura Precious, Elliott Brindle, Katie Stones, Andy Snipp and Andy Lee. The play is directed by Emma Walker, making her directing debut for BTC.
The play will be performed at the Memorial Hall, Beverley, from Wednesday 13th May to Saturday 16th May at 7.30pm, with a licensed bar. Tickets are priced at £12.00 and can be purchased:
