Fri 3rd August 2018Triathlete Becky Mason has qualified for the most prestigious event of the triathlon calendar, the World Championships, which this year are being held on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, next month. Becky has qualified in both the Sprint and Standard distances! Although she can compete in both distances, she has set herself the goal of finishing in the top 10 of the Sprint distance - that's 750m swim/20km cycle /5km run. Last year when the World Championships were held in Rotterdam, she came 14th.
Becky competes for the GB Team in the 25-29 category locally as well as internationally. She also does Duathlons and last year got a bronze medal at the European Championships in Soria. Locally she competes for Humber Triathletes.
Becky said: "Training for triathlon takes a considerable amount of hard work, dedication and motivation. It also requires a substantial amount of equipment and money to cover traveling costs and race entry, all of which is self-funded. I will need approximately £2500 to go to Australia to compete and I am asking for help from anyone who could contribute towards these costs. Any contributions, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
" It would be great if I could get longer-term sponsorship. I am more than happy to put company logos on my triathlon suit and bags.In addition I can actively promote and highlight sponsorship on social media including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and racing blogs.

"With triathlon now becoming so popular, due to the Brownlee brothers, there is an increase in TV coverage and I would love to work with a sponsor or benefactor to help me follow in the Brownlee brothers footsteps."
