Local company raise cash for disabled children's charity
Wed 20th May 2015Three team members of local payroll company, Stipendia Payroll Solutions took part in the Beverley 10k, raising over £900 for Beverley based charity, Go Kids Go!
The charity provides unique courses and workshops to equip young wheelchair users with the skills to become independently mobile so that they can enjoy the same activities as their able bodied peers.
Vicki Hone, Fundraising Manager at Go Kids Go! said: “We are extremely grateful to Lynne, Jonathan and Jack from Stipendia Payroll who ran the Beverley 10k on behalf of Go Kids Go.
“They have raised an amazing £940 which will enable Go Kids Go! to continue their work with local children and young people who are physically disabled and wheelchair users. This will include teaching them independent mobility skills alongside introducing them to wheelchair basketball and wheelchair dance.”
Directors Lynne Auton and Jonathan Parkin took part in the race with marketing intern, Jack Baldwin. The team ran in personalised shirts designed, printed and donated by Hull business, The Promotion Company.
Lynne said: “We’re extremely grateful to everyone that donated to the team and to The Promotion Company for providing our wonderful running tops! Every donation made is greatly appreciated by ourselves and Go Kids Go! so we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone that supported us.
“We had a brilliant day and it was great that we could raise this money for a great charity. Bring on next year!”
The Stipendia team has been involved in a number of charitable events since the business began trading in 2013. Next on the calendar, team members Anthony and Jack are taking on the Humber Bridge Sportive, a 98km bike ride raising money for Hull charity, The Echoes Foundation.
