LIFESTYLE TEAM MAKES CUSHION DONATION TO EAST YORKSHIRE CHARITY
Tue 22nd October 2019A group of youngsters has given the transport charity, Beverley Community Lift, a boost with a donation of almost £280 to help its passengers, following a busy summer.
The Molescroft Musketeers team took part in the annual summer holiday competition, Lifestyle, which is run by Humberside Police to encourage youngsters help the local community during the six-week break.
The five-strong Musketeers - Louis Hammond, Joe Dawson, Daniel Railton, Jasmine Lambert and Henry Stephenson - held, cake, toy and car boot sales to raise the money. With the proceeds, they bought 20 swivel cushions to help some of the less able passengers get in and out of cars.
Louis said: “We asked my Grandad, who is involved with Beverley Community Lift, and he gave us the idea of the cushions. We had great fun raising the money and taking part in Lifestyle.”
Fiona Wales, Manager of Beverley Community Lift, says: “We can’t thank the team enough for their donation to help our customers with their journeys. We take people shopping and to medical appointments every week, through our invaluable volunteer car drivers, and these swivel cushions will make that extra difference to comfort.”
Beverley Community Lift operates car and minibus services across East Yorkshire, helping people in Beverley, Cottingham, Market Weighton, Holme-upon-Spalding Moor and Pocklington.
The charity, which celebrates its 50 th anniversary in 2020, is recruiting volunteer drivers. Visit www.bclift.org.uk for details, email manager@bclift.org.uk or call 01482 868082.
