Beverley Pride Partners with Parkway Cinema for LGBTQIA+ History Month Screening of The Imitation Game
Beverley Pride is proud to announce a special partnership with Parkway Cinema, Beverley, to host a dedicated screening of The Imitation Game as part of LGBTQIA+ History Month 2026.
The screening will take place on Friday 27th February at 7:30PM at Parkway Cinema and forms part of this year’s national LGBTQIA+ History Month theme: Science & Innovation.
The Imitation Game tells the powerful and moving story of Alan Turing, the pioneering mathematician whose codebreaking work at Bletchley Park played a crucial role in ending the Second World War and laid the foundations for modern computing. Despite his extraordinary contributions to science and society, Turing was later prosecuted for being gay, a stark reminder of the injustice faced by LGBTQIA+ people throughout history.
By hosting this screening, Beverley Pride aims to honour Turing’s legacy while highlighting the significant and often overlooked contributions LGBTQIA+ individuals have made to science, technology and innovation.
LGBTQIA+ History Month is an important opportunity to reflect on the achievements, resilience and impact of our community. Alan Turing’s story is both inspiring and sobering. It reminds us how far we’ve come, but also why visibility, equality and inclusion still matter. We’re delighted to be working with Parkway Cinema to bring this event to Beverley.
