Learn, Write and Socialise with The Coffeehouse Writing Group

Amanda Allen is The Coffeehouse writer and runs The Coffeehouse Writing Group. The group meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month upstairs at The Potting Shed, Beverley, which is, according to Amanda the ‘perfect location’.
The writing group developed after Amanda ran some short writing classes and workshops, and as Amanda says ‘the students wanted to keep in touch and continue to develop.
‘I call it a ‘learn, write, socialise' group as that’s exactly what we do. The whole group is there to support other writers at various stages of their journey. For the highs and the lows, for the beta-reads and the encouragement.
‘Having been in writing groups before, I think this one is special, everyone is so supportive.
‘As part of the ‘learn’ aspect we have guest speakers, from established authors to agents and PR companies to publishers, all aimed at giving writers an insight into the industry, and making it a less scary place!
‘Over the last five months we have grown from 10 to over twenty in the group.’
