Last Chance For Artists To Enter Beverley Art Gallery S 25th Open Art Exhibition

Artists across Yorkshire and the Humber are being urged to take their final opportunity to enter Beverley Art Gallery’s 25th annual Open Art Exhibition, with submissions closing this Saturday, 12 September.

The Open Art Exhibition is an opportunity to have work displayed in a public gallery with artists of all levels, working in any medium, encouraged to apply.

Entry into the Open Art Exhibition costs £5, with free entry for artists aged 25 and under with one original artwork per artist eligible for submission.

Around 100 artworks will be selected by two independent guest selectors: art curator and researcher Gill Crawshaw and award-winning photographer Andrew Quinn.

Prizes are funded by the Friends of Beverley Art Gallery, whose support helps champion artists and emerging talent.

How to enter

Artists living in Yorkshire and the Humber region can enter one original artwork in any medium.

Artists should:

  • Register their artwork online and pay the £5 non-refundable entry fee. Entry is free for artists aged 25 and under.
  • Attach the two labels received by email to their artwork.
  • Deliver their labelled artwork during one of the remaining submission dates.
  • Read the terms and conditions and frame guidance before submitting.

The final submission opportunities are Thursday, 10 September, from 10am – 12pm and 2pm – 4pm; Friday, 11 September, from 10am – 12pm and 2pm – 4pm; and Saturday, 12 September, from 9.30am – 11.30am and 1pm – 3pm.

Beverley Art Gallery Curator, Hannah Willetts, added: “The Open Art Exhibition is about giving artists across our region a platform and celebrating the breadth of work being created here. We want to encourage artists at every stage of their practice to put their work forward, and we’re excited to bring that variety and talent into the gallery for our 25th exhibition.”

The selected artworks will be displayed at Beverley Art Gallery from Saturday, 26th September until Thursday, 17th December.

All submitting artists are invited to the exhibition launch on Saturday, 26th September, from 1pm –3pm, regardless of the selection outcome.

Visitor entry to the Open Art Exhibition will be free.
