James Aconley, a seasoned performer and dedicated educator, is bringing the renowned Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) back to Beverley in February 2025. This exciting development promises to provide young people in the region with access to high-quality performing arts training.
James Aconley, with a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry, will lead the new academy, ensuring a vibrant and supportive learning environment. The academy will offer a comprehensive curriculum covering acting, singing, dancing, and filmmaking. Students will have the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, and explore their creativity in a fun and engaging setting.

“It’s been a number of years since we’ve had a PQA in Beverley, and the demand has just got so high from local families that we’ve decided to return at last!”, James says.
PQA Beverley will emphasise a holistic approach to education, focusing not only on technical skills but also on teamwork, communication, and personal development. Young people will have the opportunity to participate in regular performances, showcasing their talents and gaining valuable stage experience.
The academy will offer classes for children and teens of all ages and abilities. Free sessions are available at the academy, starting with a launch day on 1st February, allowing prospective students and their families to learn more about the PQA Beverley experience.
