It's time for a beach party in Bridlington - The Tidal Waves Beach Music Festival is this weekend!

The focus on live music in Hull 2017 turns to South Cliff beach in Bridlington this coming weekend (Friday 9 and Saturday 10 June) with the Tidal Waves Beach Music Festival.
This exciting two-day beach party will be headlined by local duo Seafret on Friday, and by no fewer than four top acts – The Hoosiers, Toploader, The Pigeon Detectives, and Reverend and the Makers - on Saturday. Both days will feature a wide range of music and genres, as well as the headline acts.
All the bands will be performing on a stage on the beach, which is situated directly below the Park and Ride car park in the town.
Festival director Kirsty Dingle said : “This event has been in the planning stage for many months, and it’s very exciting that it has now arrived, and we can bring all this amazing music to the beach in Bridlington over these two days! So come along and join us for an amazing party on the beach, with great music, a brilliant atmosphere, and everything you need to have a memorable weekend!”
The weekend features a varied line-up of music : Friday 9 June will feature local bands and local music, in an evening event from 7pm. International trance act Enigma UK open the festival, sharing billing with the renowned local folk duo, Seafret. Also appearing will be country singer Gracie Falls, indie and Brit-pop group Capital Eye and alternative female-fronted guitar band The Brontes, and local singer/songwriter Jack Parker.
Saturday’s programme, starting at 12 noon, will see The Hoosiers, Reverend and the Makers, Toploader and The Pigeon Detectives, supported by local rock group Big Me, Hull-based alternative ska-core band Counting Coins, Bridlington’s three-piece soulful mod group Page 45, rock, blues and indie group from Hull The Raywells, and five-piece guitar-driven post rock indie pop band Vague.Louder than Life, an audience-participation samba and kettle-drum group, will also add to the mix during the event.
Local DJ Emma Diamond will entertain the crowds between the acts with her funky house mix of disco-jazz infused rhythms and chunky rolling basslines.
The Festival will include a bar and various food outlets on the beach: Amo la Pizza; Handheld Food Company; Betsy Blue; The Cake Pan; and Bod and Beast. All these food suppliers have received five-star hygiene ratings.
There will also be face painting, and Viking FM will be in attendance with entertainment and games.
In addition, in the Spa Gardens, there will be a programme of live music on Saturday.

Full weekend adult tickets are priced at £50 for adults, or £30 for children (aged 14-17) and also for students in full time education, on production of their valid NUS card.
One child aged 13 and under can go free with each paying adult (quote promotion code TIDALCHILD)
For the Friday night only, tickets cost £16.
For the Saturday only, the adult ticket is £38 and the child ticket (14-17) is £20.

Bridlington Park and Ride car park is located above South Cliff beach and has capacity for 1000 vehicles.
For those wishing to pick people up after the event on both days, Festival organisers have asked that they use the Park and Ride car park, which is clearly signposted on South Cliff, and NOT Belvedere Parade.
Festival organisers are reminding those attending that, for the safety and security of all, bag searches will be carried out and confiscated items will not be returned. Dogs will not be allowed on site and must not be left in vehicles. No flammable materials can be brought on site, including bbqs, fireworks, chinese lanterns, flares etc.
Tap water will be available on site – Festival goers cannot bring their own drinks or alcoholic drinks on to the site. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
The Tidal Waves Festival is a key part of the East Riding’s programme of events for Hull UK City of Culture 2017, in which the council is a Principal Partner.
