Instant Messiah to celebrate 125 years of Toll Gavel United Church!
Wed 19th October 2016Choir members are needed to sing Handel’s Messiah on Saturday November 12th!
Join conductor Colin Wright (East Riding County Choir), organist Julian Savoury and local soloists Elaine Dave (Soprano), Berry Lewis (Alto), David Bowden (Tenor) and Kevin Ormond (Bass) in singing the choruses of this classic piece as it is performed in full after
only a couple of hours’ practice.
Organiser John Turner told Just Beverley: “Toll Gavel Church has wonderful acoustics and a long history of putting on concerts
such as Messiah. In our 125th year, we wanted to celebrate this musical history by inviting other church- and non-choirs to join us in this magnificent work. We will be singing from the Watkins Shaw version - copies will be available to hire on the day. Practice will take place during the afternoon followed by a buffet tea for the musicians with a public performance at 7pm.”
Application forms are available from jeturnerbev@hotmail.com or 01482 867573. Participation plus buffet tea plus music hire costs £14, which can be submitted with the completed application form.
