Humber Speculative Fiction Presents an Evening with Stairwell Books.
Thu 9th March 2023After a successful Open Mic night in February, Humber Speculative Fiction will be hosting an evening with York Independent Publisher Stairwell Books.
Originally suggested by Clint Wastling the evening is dedicated to his memory. Clint Wastling’s writing was a regular feature within Just Beverley’s pages, as well as organising events at East Riding Theatre his passion for literature, home town, and the natural environment formed the base of much of his writing.
The evening will take place on March 26th from 5.30pm at Atom Bar on New Walkergate in Beverley.
‘It’s an absolute honour to hold this event in Beverley.’ Organiser and author Shellie Horst said.
“Clint understood the importance of supporting creative artists in the region.”
Stairwell Books was conceived by founders Rose Drew and Alan Gillott. A small, independent publisher, that specialises in good writing from new writers. Stairwell has been publishing poetry and prose since 2002. As well as offering vital insight to the publishing process, Stairwell Books will be showcasing their speculative fiction authors, Dawn Treacher, Pauline Kirk, Eliza Mood, Andrew Crowther and Clint Wastling.
“Readers don’t often get the opportunity to discover the outstanding books that independent publishers across the North of England offer, and writers are unaware of the opportunities that such presses offer. ”
The evening is free to attend, but Humber Speculative Fiction strongly recommend reserving a seat to assist with organising.
Tickets are available from humberspeculativefiction.co.uk and directly from Eventbrite.
