Home Instead Charities, a UK charity dedicated to reducing isolation and loneliness in ageing adults has recently awarded a grant of £ 500.00 to local group Senior Tigers Club, a social group for older supporters of Hull City FC.
The grant award will fund Senior Tigers to cover the cost of an accessible minibus service for members attending its monthly meetings at the MKM Stadium over a ten-month period. The minibus provides a door-to-door service for older members who would otherwise be unable to attend due to mobility difficulties, lack of transport, or living in more remote areas.
The club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where members can socialise, enjoy guest speakers, take part in activities, and build meaningful friendships. The transport service supports up to 12 people and is essential in ensuring that everyone has equal access to these opportunities and can remain connected to their community.
Home Instead Charities is the charitable arm of Home Instead UK and raises money though fundraising by local Home Instead offices, donations and support from the wider Home Instead network.
That funding is then distributed via grant programmes across charities, voluntary groups and grassroots organisation across the UK.
The grant award was made possible by fundraising by the local Beverley and Hull office who undertook fundraising events and activities to enable the grant award to be made to support their community.
