Thu 1st March 2018Much-loved Hull pie business The Pie Bakery is now offering home delivery service across Hull and the surrounding villages.
The Pie Bakery is a modern young company created by Hull Chef & Entrepreneur Matt Cunnah and has been serving hot pies with sides in Hull for seven years...and now they are bringing fresh frozen pies and farmhouse mash straight to your door.
Customers can order selection boxes of pies on-line @ http://www.thepiebakery.co.uk/shop/ - just pick your variety of fillings and place your order - it's that simple. The pies and mash can then be baked from frozen at home - perfect for busy people!
This new service is available across Hull and the surrounding villages, stretching out as far as South Cave, Tickton, Sproatley and Hedon. Matt said this week: "We are really excited about this new venture. We have listened to our customers and can now offer them our beautiful fresh frozen pies straight to their doors. It means we can spread our brand across the area and provide an easy to use handy delivery service for busy people who love our pies!"
Food lovers have been enjoying pies with sides from Pie & Go in Hull city centre, the Hull Pie 2 on Newland Avenue and the Hull Pie Bakery on Cottingham Road. The Cottingham Road shop shut at the end of last year and is now the main Pie Bakery for the fresh pies and a second bespoke bakery producing Gluten Free pies.
Matt added: "We wanted to add Gluten Free options for our customers and now we have the capability to do that from our new kitchen on Cottingham Road. We now make Gluten Free pies with Succulent Steak, Chicken, Bacon & Leek, BBQ Pulled Pork, Curried Root Vegetable (Vegan) and Creamy Garlic Mushroom (Vegan) fillings."
Throughout January they ran a competition for customers to suggest the sixth gluten free pie flavour. The judging has taken place and they are now working on product development before announcing the overall winner. The winner will receive a year's supply of gluten free pies as well as their pie being on the menu.
Proving that they make excellent pies over the last few years they have won top awards at The Great British Pie Awards, Remarkable Hull & East Yorkshire Tourism Awards (REYTA) and the Made in Hull Awards, as well as receiving rave reviews in local and national press. The Guardian's Marina O'Loughlin praised the 'dangerously delicious pastry-wrapped items', and the local Hull radio personality 'Burnsy' is a self-confessed Hull Pie addict.
The business is planning on pushing the home delivery service out of the HU postcode area soon - so watch this space for more news...
