Holiday Activities And Food Summer Programme Announced

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme for summer includes over 460 activities, at numerous locations across the East Riding.

Children aged four to 16 can access activities from pony trekking to nerf challenges, water sports and graffiti workshops.

Families in receipt of benefits-related free school meals or council tax support can access the activities for free.

All HAF activities are available to other families on a paid-for basis, and prices will vary by activity and provider.

New to the summer programme are STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities, cricket, axe throwing, holistic therapies, and a sports leadership award for young people.

There is a dedicated SEND programme which includes BMX-biking, farm experiences and glow sports, and the programme welcomes back trampolining, go-karting and aerial hi-ropes sessions at The Edge in Bridlington.

Councillor Victoria Aitken, cabinet member for children, families and education said: “I’m delighted with the range of HAF activities available this summer. Wherever families live, there will be something for children of all ages to enjoy within their community. From sports, music and dance to craft, nature activities and animal encounters – there’s lots of fun opportunities to keep children and young people active through the summer holidays.“
