More than 100 free events are available for residents to attend this September, as part of the East Riding’s Heritage Open Days.
The programme, running from Friday 11th September to Sunday 20th September will include venues and events across the county, including locations normally closed to the public.
This includes Norwood House, the home of Bostonair; Beverley Friary, the Priest’s room and bell tower and St Mary’s. and the former Beverley Savings Bank on Lairgate.
For those interested in world war two, there will be guided tours of the anti-aircraft battery on Butt Farm, while walks around Molescroft will show visitors graves from the world wars and the stories behind them
Barges on the Beck will provide trips and visits to the recently restored Syntan barge, while there will be a guided tour of Beverley Minster, highlighting key features of its eighteenth-century restoration.
There are also walks available across the county, including in Cottingham, Hedon, Goole and Beverley, as well as a tour of Laurel Vines.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism said:: "Heritage Open Days is a fantastic programme for our area and we are delighted to have so many great events for residents and visitors on offer.”

All venues and events are free and the brochure has been supported by VEY (Visit East Yorkshire), Beverley Town Council, the Yorkshire Wolds Heritage Trust, the Georgian Society of East Yorkshire, the Friends of Beverley Minster and the Beverley Civic Society.
