Graham Stuart MP encourages local charities to apply for up to £20,000 of lottery funding
Fri 8th February 2019Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, is encouraging local charities and good causes to apply for over £3million of funding that has been raised by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Graham said: “A wonderful opportunity has arisen for local charities and good causes to increase their funding. A whole host of social enterprises and voluntary groups are eligible to apply for grants of between £500 and £20,000 raised by the People’s Postcode Lottery. I know that this money could make a real difference by building on the excellent work of charities in my constituency.”
The funding is available through three separate trusts each with a different theme ranging from the prevention of poverty and the health and wellbeing of communities to the implementation of renewable energy strategies.
Graham stated: “The People’s Postcode Lottery funding seeks to support diverse projects that strengthen communities and have a significant positive impact on people’s lives.
“I know that there are many good causes in my constituency that would love a cash boost for a specific project. I would therefore encourage local third sector groups that are looking for funding to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and apply as soon as possible.”
Applications are open until 20th February, and local causes can apply by reading the short funding guides available and applying to the trust that best fits the aims of their project.
