Mon 13th August 2018Beverley-based charity Go Kids Go! won £2,000 in the May/June Bags of Help customer vote for their 'Wheelchair Skills Workshops' project.
The charity said: ''Go Kids Go would like to thank Beverley Tesco customers for voting for our charity in the Bags of Help programme. The funds raised will help us in our work around the Beverley area running training for young wheelchair users and also on our disability awareness workshops in local primary schools. Go Kids Go have been running wheelchair skills training for young wheelchair users since 1990; training designed to enable independence and to help ensure that the young people are able to reach their full potential. TV presenter, Ade Adepitan MBE, learnt wheelchair skills with the charity as a young man and is now a patron of Go Kids Go.''
Tesco’s Bags of Help project has already donated £56 million and supported 16,000 community projects across the UK since the start of the scheme in 2016. The scheme is permanently open for applications from schools, sports clubs, charities and community groups.
