Jgdr Give 5 And Change A Life

Jerry Green Dog Rescue are asking you to give £5 a month to change the life of a rescue dog in their care. It costs the charity on average more than £125,000 a year to provide veterinary care to their dogs, with 35% of this being on standard vet care alone. For standard care, it costs on average, approximately £84 per dog (based on 2019’s figures) and sees the charity spending more than £43,000 a year on the most basic level of care.

Shelley Wilks, Deputy Chief Executive, said: “Standard vet care is the basic level of vet care we provide to every dog that comes into our rescue. This care includes vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, medication, flea/worming treatments among lots of other treatments. This care does not include the big things we have to cover like one off surgeries, the dogs food, toys, staff salaries or the basic necessities we provide like a warm kennel and a comfy dog bed.

“The figures are significant but show how donations we receive from the general public and our supporters are vital in enabling us to continue doing what we do and fulfil our promise of providing the highest standard of care and welfare to every single dog.”

So the charity is asking – can you help?

From as little as £5 a month you can contribute towards the cost of providing the standard vet care to one of the unfortunate dogs that is without a forever home. £10 a month can contribute towards two dogs and £20 a month can help up to four dogs.

Shelley continued: “However much you can give, big or small, it will go towards changing the lives of the rescue dogs we have in our care and will give them the second chance they deserve. When you think about it, we regularly spend £5 on small things like a fancy coffee, could you give it to our rescue dogs instead?”
