Following on from their acclaimed production of Assassins in 2025 Forbidden Theatre Productions return to the East Riding Theatre to perform Stephen Sondheim’s celebrated musical Company, from Thursday 12th November to Saturday 14th November 2026.
Widely loved as one of the most creative and influential musicals ever written, Company looks at modern relationships, marriage, friendship and finding happiness through Sondheim’s catchy tunes and clever humour. First seen on Broadway in 1970, it changed musical theatre with its clever music, fresh structure and themes we all recognise.
Focusing on Bobby, a single man surrounded by married friends, Company offers a touching, funny and thoughtful look at love and connection. With favourite songs like ”Being Alive”, ”The Ladies Who Lunch”, ”Side by Side by Side” and ”Another Hundred People”, it still delights audiences more than fifty years on.
Forbidden Theatre Productions is thrilled to bring this classic to East Riding Theatre, one of Yorkshire’s most charming venues. You can look forward to a lively, engaging show that celebrates local talent while doing justice to Sondheim’s brilliant music and story.
Neal Edlin, producer of the show said:
"Company remains one of the most intelligent, moving and entertaining musicals ever written. We are thrilled to present Sondheim's masterpiece at one of Yorkshire’s most distinctive performance venues and to share its humour, humanity and extraordinary music
with audiences across the region. Whether discovering the show for the first time or revisiting a favourite, theatre-goers are in for a truly memorable experience."
The production marks another ambitious step for Forbidden Theatre Productions, continuing its commitment to presenting high-quality musical theatre that challenges, inspires and entertains.
